About Paper

Paper is a web-first design platform built around an HTML/CSS canvas, allowing designers to create visual layouts that translate directly into code. Layers, styles and components can be exported and synchronised with existing codebases, reducing the work involved in moving designs into development.

Paper supports AI agents and live data connections, bringing automation and real content into the design process. Designers can connect IDE and CLI agents, import content from CMSs, databases and APIs, and edit copy directly on the canvas. Agents can help generate responsive layouts, check design consistency, update repository files and handle repetitive development tasks.

Available in the browser and through Paper Desktop, Paper also offers companion tools including Paper MCP, Snapshot and Shaders. These extend its design, integration and export capabilities, with a public roadmap outlining planned improvements.

Paper offers a free plan with unlimited viewers and editors, 100 MCP tool calls per week and limited image generation. Pro costs $20 per editor/month, or $16 with annual billing, and increases MCP usage to 1 million calls per week, with expanded image generation, video export and larger image uploads. Organisations can access SSO, admin controls, custom contracts and dedicated support.
